Meet our Pastor: Pastor Ferron F. Francis

Pastor Ferron Fitzroy Francis was born on October 1st on the island of Jamaica, West Indies. He is the fourth of seven children (five brothers and one sister). He is a third generation Seventh-day Adventist Christian who, by God’s grace, has never left the church and the Christian principles that were instilled in him from infancy. He is happily married to the former Tosha-Lyn Watson. The Lord has blessed their union with a handsome son, Andrew and a beautiful daughter Ashley-Ann.

Pastor Francis obtained an Associate degree in business administration from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York in 1994. He enrolled as a student at Bernard M. Baruch College in 1994 in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. While attending Baruch College, Pastor Francis received the call to the gospel ministry. He left and enrolled at Oakwood University, the School of the Prophets, in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1997. During his matriculation at Oakwood, he served as the president of the Religion and Theology Forum, as well as a literature evangelist. He also served as a pastoral intern under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin Jones at the First Seventh-day Adventist Church, in Huntsville. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from Oakwood University in May 2000.

Pastor Francis went on to further academic studies at Andrews University Theological Seminary, where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in religion. While attending the seminary, Pastor Francis was privilege to work with the South Suburban Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chicago, Illinois. He has also worked as a chaplain and obtained three units of clinical pastoral education from the Department of Pastoral Services of New York Presbyterian and St. John’s Episcopal hospitals.

Pastor Francis has served the local church for many years in several capacities, including Adventist Youth leader, communication secretary, personal ministry leader, interest coordinator, deacon, ordained elder, and Bible worker. He served as a pastoral intern under Pastors Eldeen King, Oswald Euell, and Anthony Usher at the Christian Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brooklyn, New York. Pastor Francis worked as an associate evangelist in several crusades, including one conducted in 2002 that started the Community Tabernacle Seventh-day Adventist Mission in Brooklyn, New York. He was subsequently asked to serve as the leader of the Community Tabernacle Mission in August 2002. In June 2005, Pastor Francis held his first in-house three-week long evangelistic crusade and was blessed to see the moving of the Holy Spirit as twenty (20) precious souls were baptized into God’s kingdom. Since then he has held several other evangelistic crusades and saw many souls accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour from sin. Community Tabernacle Mission got started with approximately seventy (70) new believers and grew under the auspices of the Holy Spirit to approximately two hundred and twenty (220) believers at the time of his departure in January 2006.

In February 2006, Pastor Francis was assigned to the Macedonia and Uniondale Seventh-day Adventist Church district in Long Island, New York. Under the Holy Spirit’s power and leadership, Pastor Francis saw God move in mighty ways, adding to the church those who would be saved. In addition, he accomplished several major building projects. Pastor Francis distinguishes himself as one of the pastors in the Northeastern Conference who works hard for the Lord, as is seen with the conference goals his churches annually achieve (Message Magazine, Harvest Ingathering, baptism, tithe, insurance and on-time remittance).

Pastor Francis also served as an assistant auditor of the Northeastern Conference in 2000, and as a member of the Northeastern Conference executive committee from 2004-2008. In addition, to working for the church, he also served as a school teacher in the New York City public school system, a substance abuse counselor, and a hospital chaplain. He have pastored the Macedonia and Uniondale district and the Canarsie church. Currently he is pastoring the New Dimension Seventh-day Adventist church.

Pastor Francis loves to preach, pray and praise the Lord. He prides himself on being a people person to all age groups. He is dedicated to the Lord’s work and considers it a privilege and an honor to be a part of the gospel ministry, ushering in the soon coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
